AquastoundTM SXS 40 is an excellent anionic hydrotrope. A hydrotrope is a compound that solubilizes hydrophobic compounds in aqueous solutions. Typically, hydrotropes consist of a hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part but the hydrophobic part is generally too small to cause spontaneous self-aggregation. There are many advantages to this hydrotrope: generates essentially no foam, no wetting action, and has minimum impact on surface tension and is odour free. It is a very economical way to solubilize complex formulations, control viscosity, and depress cloud point. It is a great coupling agent, water-soluble accelerator, homogenizer and dispersant in liquid detergents.
It has many applications such as: anionic surfactant in personal care products and shampoos, liquid detergent,heavy duty cleaning, all purpose cleaning, industrial cleaning, hard surface care,wax stripping, dish-washing detergents, light duty cleaning, wettable powders, Ready-TO-Use (RTU) cleaners, concentrated emulsions (EW), commercial/home laundry washing, liquid soaps, and textile applications. It is used as a hydrotrope in detergents, shampoos, conditioners, degreasing compounds,and printing pastes. It is an additive for glues, and used to extract lignin and pentosans in the paper industry. It is also used as a thickening agent in shampoos.
