Caustic Potash is an important precursor in detergents and soaps and results in improved softness, greater solubility and higher cleaning power compared to sodium hydroxide-derived soaps. Liquid cleaners and drain cleaners can contain 25 % or higher of potassium hydroxide. Caustic Potash acts as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries and in electroplating.
